In the mood for Christmas

It snowed a little this last weekend. Not enough to really stay on the ground, but enough to make me pull out the Christmas music. (Ken only lets me play it when he is gone).
I've decided my love for Christmas goes back to my childhood. Wonderful memories of tinsel on the tree, the vinyl smell of a new doll, Alan sneaking out to see what Santa brought.

We would be up in the early, early morning. After seeing what we got, we would head out into the snow to traipse (is that a word?) through the barrow pit to Grandma Batt's house to show her our Christmas treasures. What keeps me loving Christmas now is the chance to be with family (my own and my extended). I have been so blessed to be part of a family that I love so much. Thought you might enjoy a few pictures from my memory lane.
My three brothers.
Our family just before our Uncle Jim left for his mission. Jim is the tall one on the right.
Our annual first day of school picture. Every year was the same with us squinting as Mom had us looking into the sun .
Just after Alan returned from his mission.

I love it, Mom. I can't wait until Christmas either. Doesn't Uncle Doyle look a little like David in these pictures? Also, you still need to write your tagged blog. Love ya!

I love Christmas too. Those pictures are so fun. It is funny to see what everyone looked like as a child and compare them to their children and their grandchildren. I think that you look just like Halee and Uncle Alan looks just like Lee. How fun. Are we having a Christmas party this year too? I hope so. Hope to see you soon. Love, Crystal

I did really enjoy the pictures. Some of them I don't think I've seen before. I haven't been in the Christmas mood yet. It might have something to do with the weather. Christmas stuff is out in the stores though, even here. You must not be the only one that is getting in the mood.
